# Physical Security

> Cameras and access control, managed like your IT.

DVSN AI designs, installs and manages physical security systems for offices, warehouses, clinics and multi-site organizations: IP video surveillance, door access control, visitor management and intercoms. Because the same team runs your network, identity and devices, badges are issued and revoked with employee onboarding and offboarding, camera and door events are retained to policy, and the systems are monitored and patched under the managed services agreement.

## Service scope

- **Video surveillance.** Cloud-managed IP camera systems with remote viewing, motion and people analytics, retention policies and secure sharing of footage with law enforcement or insurers.
- **Door access control.** Controllers, readers and electric locks for interior and exterior doors, with schedules, zones and lockdown procedures.
- **Badges, fobs and mobile credentials.** Issuance, printing and lifecycle management of key badges and fobs, and mobile credentials on employee phones tied to the identity directory.
- **Identity integration.** Access rights provisioned and revoked automatically with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or HR system onboarding and offboarding.
- **Visitor management, intercoms and sensors.** Visitor check-in, badge printing, host notifications, video intercoms, and door-held-open, forced-entry and environmental sensors integrated with alerting.
- **Network, power and monitoring.** Dedicated VLANs, PoE switching, cabling and uninterruptible power sized for cameras, readers and controllers, with device health monitoring and firmware patching.

## How the service runs

### 1. Access tied to identity

A badge is an account. It is issued when a person joins, changes when their role changes and is revoked the day they leave, from the same workflow as their email and devices.

- Provisioning from Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or the HR system
- Mobile credentials on managed phones as an alternative to cards
- Schedules, zones and lockdown procedures per site
- Access logs retained and reviewable for audits

### 2. Built on the managed network

Cameras, readers and controllers are network devices. They are segmented, powered, monitored and patched like every other device DVSN AI manages.

- Dedicated VLANs and PoE switching sized for the deployment
- Cabling and uninterruptible power for controllers and cameras
- Firmware patching and health monitoring under the managed agreement
- Cloud-managed platforms with no on-premises recording server to maintain

### 3. Retention, evidence and compliance

Footage and access logs are retained to a written policy and available on request, and camera coverage of server rooms and records storage supports compliance evidence.

- Retention set per camera to policy and storage, commonly thirty to ninety days
- Incident footage flagged and preserved beyond standard retention
- Secure sharing with law enforcement and insurers
- Access and camera evidence for HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements

## What sets DVSN AI apart

- **One provider for physical and information security.** Access control, cameras, identity, devices and network are designed and operated together, with one team accountable for all of them.
- **Badges revoked with accounts.** Offboarding removes door access in the same workflow that disables email and wipes the laptop, closing the gap most organizations have.
- **Managed, not installed and forgotten.** Devices are monitored, patched and reported on under the managed services agreement rather than left to age on the network.

## Outcomes

- Every door and camera on a managed, patched, segmented network
- Badge access issued and revoked with the same workflow as user accounts
- Footage and access logs retained to a written policy and retrievable on request
- One provider accountable for physical and information security

## Frequently asked questions

### Which camera and access control platforms do you work with?

Cloud-managed platforms that can be administered remotely, patched centrally and integrated with the identity provider. The specific platform is recommended per site during design. Existing on-premises systems are assessed and retained where they meet requirements.

### Can physical security be added to an existing managed IT agreement?

Yes. Installation is scoped as a project, and ongoing monitoring, patching, credential management and support are added to the monthly agreement per door and per camera.

### How long is footage retained?

Retention is set per camera to policy and storage, commonly thirty to ninety days with longer retention for incidents flagged for preservation. Retention settings are documented and reported.

### Is physical security part of compliance readiness?

Yes. Access control logs, visitor records and camera coverage of server rooms and records storage are common evidence requirements for HIPAA and SOC 2, and are designed with the compliance offering in mind.
